About Highland Surveys
Who We Are:
Highland Surveys is owned and operated by Jon Miersma, ALS. Jon has worked in the land surveying industry in a variety of roles since 2011. He was commissioned as an Alberta Land Surveyor (ALS) in 2021. He founded Highland Surveys in March, 2024 and is an active member of the Alberta Land Surveyor’s Association. Jon operates Highland Surveys from his farm in Sturgeon County, where he dabbles with cattle in his spare time.
Why Highland?
At Highland Surveys we embrace the owner/operator business model. This means Jon meets you on site and is your primary point of contact throughout your project. This gives him a level of understanding of your project that is hard to replicate any other way and makes for clear and simple communication. Many of our clients are individual landowners, so we are used to explaining land surveying to people with little background knowledge of the subject. If you can tell us what you want to do with your land, we can figure out what type of survey you need.
Where We Work:
Ultimately, we are happy to serve any location in Alberta. We provide local service to Sturgeon County and nearby towns and rural communities, including Morinville, Gibbons, Bon Accord, Redwater, Legal, Parkland County, Lac Ste. Anne County, Westlock County, Thorhild County, Athabasca County, Boyle, Smoky Lake County, Lamont County, Bruderheim, Fort Saskatchewan, Strathcona County and numerous small towns, villages, and summer villages in these areas. We can also serve St. Albert, Edmonton, and Sherwood Park, or travel further afield to places like Camrose, Camrose County, Flagstaff County, Beaver County, Vegreville, Minburn County, County of St. Paul, County of Two Hills, M.D. Bonnyville, and Lac La Biche County.
